In this section you will find details for oiling and basic maintenance of your Dapol Locomotive. Remember that unless specified in your locomotive instructions, or its ommission here, your locomotive will need lubrication periodically.

Please do not use any type of grease on your locomotive as only oil will disolve the transit grease and aid running, Grease may have the un-desired effect of only causing further problems with running and will invalidate any warranty in place.

It is worth noting however, that the recommended oiling is not the 'cure all' for dirty wheels or poorly laid trackwork, or even an old controller which lacks the finesse needed to control modern locomotive motors that need finer control.
