NEW class 58 locomotive first look

As an early Christmas present to us all, we have managed to finish the 'first' draught cad/cam design for the forthcoming class 58 heavy freight locomotive.

There is still plenty of work still to do with the second axhaust, alternate bogies plus a healthy list of changes to both the windows, bodyside and cab.

However, at this time we have 'locked down' the specification for this model and are pleased to say it will totally conform to Dapol's 'Platinum' range of features.

These include the following;

1) 5 Pole skew wound Super Creep Motor

2) DCC ready with a 6 pin NEM 651 socket installed

3) Directional lighting

4) Low friction mechanism

5) Darkened RP25.72 wheel sets

6) Tungsten split frame chassis

7) Flywheel

8) Fully painted internal cab detail.

9) Accessory bag with air pipes, spare couplings etc

10) NEM coupling box

This model is due for release during 2009 and will initially be released in Railfreight Red stripe grey (2 numbers), Coal sector, and EWS.  Each model will have the relevant changes in bogie, roof radio pods and exhausts.
