Dapol Modelling Water is a new easy to use pourable product that sets absolutely clear and rock hard to simulate either moving or static water.
The viscosity of the product can be modified by warming or cooling which may aid in simulating various effects such as waves, ripples etc.
Also, with the ability to add water based colours, a broader range of affects is achievable from crystal clear rivers to murky duck ponds.
The product takes approximately 3-4 hours to set depending on environmental conditions and is fully rock hard in 12 hours.
It is non-toxic and low odour so can be used both easily and safely by adults and children. No Heating, no mixing just pour!
For lasting clear results we suggest that you apply 1-2 coats of gloss varnish to the dry and hard water surface to avoid moisture absorption from the atmosphere. This will stop the surface from turning white over time.

Used as the instructions on the side of the bottle great and looked good, but after 7-8 weeks went from nice clear water to snow / frost white effect, this product should be withdrawn. I think will contact trading standards as "Not Fit For Purpose"
Same problem, wish I’d read this before I used it!
Entirely pointless product, if I’d known I had to varnish it I would never have bothered. Disgraceful that this is not mentioned on the bottle.
Significant amount of rework needed to repair the damage caused.
It’s going in the bin. My advice - buy two-part epoxy resin instead.
I wish I had known this as I had exactly the same problem. I assumed it had turned white because it had leached from the plaster I had used surrounding the water feature. I wrote to Dapol to ask what I had done wrong, but did not receive a reply. I'll try again after using varnish.
The effect given by this product is very good however it needs to be sealed with varnish otherwise it turns white over the course of a few weeks and ruins the effect. The solution to this I have been told is to seal with gloss varnish which was not stated on the product instructions on the bottle. I used a water based varnish and I will wait and see if this works. Basically the instructions need altering to state it needs to be sealed when set and needs to specify the best type of varnish to use.
