Dapol N gauge Terrier models

We are busy experimenting on Terrier models to get the livery application correct prior to release.

Here are examples of how the models are coming along.

A first for Dapol is the painting of the chassis as per the prototype and helps enhance the model considerably.

Both Boxhill and Stepney are painted identically, the difference in finish is due to lighting conditions when photography took place.

The Terriers will have a 40:1 gear ratio, darkened or painted see through wheels, self lubricating axle bushes and extra (from our open day model) tungsten weight and will be capable of hauling approximately 9 Dapol Collett coaches on the flat.

Although not DCC ready, it is quite a straight-forward process to fit a DCC chip within the cab and still keep a 'see through' look for this area.

Axle ends will be painted into a matching colour, and each Terrier will feature prototypically correct extra and different items and styles to others.

For instance we have 2 types of coal bunker the short one, wrongly shown on the BR and Southern Samples, extended version for the aforementioned 2 types, sand reservior box for the front spasher, and coal extenders (2 types) for the short bunker type.

All models depicted here are NOT indicative of the finished product and are merely shown for interested parties to view.
