We are delighted to be able to share images of the LNER B17 4-6-0 decorated samples that we have received from one of our partner factories in the Far East. Please note the following images are shown for illustration and are subject to change where our design team feel it necessary.

Prototype

The B17 locomotives were a class of LNER 4-6-0 locomotives designed by Sir Nigel Gresley for passenger haulage on the Great Eastern Line. They first came into operation in 1928. In all 73 were built and continued into service until the early 1960s. During their lifetime there were many amendments and upgrades to the class including a streamlined version. Unfortunately, no examples have survived into preservation, however there are currently “new builds” underway to bring the class back from extinction.

Project Update

We have just received decorated samples, these have been reviewed by the design team and feedback has been provided to our partner factory in the Far East. Most of the changes revolve around the lining on the tenders of the locomotives.

We expect the models to be shipped to the UK in Q3 2026.
