Project Update

The Design team are currently reviewing the samples and are on the whole very pleased with what they have seen thus far.

Four small corrections have been identified up until now: some of the No Smoking signs need to be re-located onto the correct window, the window bolections need to be painted mahogany on the GWR  Twin City and the Shirt Button examples. The suffix W needs to be removed from the BR Maroon model. There is also a small adjustment required to enable the optional  auto gear to be fitted to the model without fouling the bogie, this is already in hand.

We anticipate these models to be in the shops sometime during the second quarter of 2025.

OO Gauge Autocoach - Artwork Update

Dapol Has received a fully working EP of the OO Gauge Autocoach and has started to review the artworks for the project. We are delighted to be able to share images of the EP and Artworks.  Artworks are provisional and shown for illustration only.

Prototype

Our model is based on the six coaches numbered 36 to 41 constructed during 1907 under Lot 1126 to Diagram ‘N ’. All were built new as driving trailers and not later conversions from old steam rail motors. They were used on branch lines from Cornwall to Wales and retained their gas lighting until withdrawn, the first in 1956, the last in November 1957. Number 38 is preserved on the Telford Steam Railway

Project Update

We have received a fully working Engineering Prototype (EP) which has had several improvements made to it based on the feedback provided to the factory based on the 1st shot evaluation made a months ago. the design team will evaluate the EP and provide necessary extra feedback to the factory for further tweaking of the tooling suit.

Artworks are currently under review and will be forwarded to the factory when they are complete and any small niggles have been ironed out. we will then be waiting for decorated samples to be prepared.
