Dapol Supports World Book Day 2026 Fund Raising Efforts
Dapol has teamed up with Browsers Bookshop, to champion independent booksellers and Booklaw Publications, representing independent Publishers. Both organizations have graciously permitted us to incorporate their logos alongside the World Book Day logo to assist in fundraising efforts for the World Book Day charity.
If you are unaware of what world book day is, have a word with your children, grand children, nieces and nephews, they will be able to tell you how much the enjoy the day at school and how much they get from it.
Dapol is releasing the following wagons in March
Dapol will be making a donation to the World Book Day charity for each book themed wagon sold.
About World Book Day - the reading for fun charity
World Book Day champions reading for fun. That’s because it seriously improves lives. In fact, it’s the biggest indicator that a child will grow up to enjoy a happier and more successful future. Today, only one in three children likes reading. By changing this, we can transform lives. Young people are more likely to read if they see it as a fun, entertaining and social thing to do. That’s what the work of the World Book Day charity is all about; inspiring young people to see reading differently. This year we will be celebrating World Book Day on 5th March 2026. Join us, and let’s help every child enjoy the life-changing benefits of reading for fun.

Browsers Bookshop
We approached Browsers Bookshop to act as our representative for independent bookshops largely on the basis that it is the bookshop our marketing manager mostly frequents. They are a family owned and operated business based in Porthmadog, North Wales. They have a wide selection of books to choose from including railway related titles.

We appreciate that not everyone is going to be able to pop to Porthmadog at the drop of a hat or when they finish their current book (although it is worth a day out and is accessible by train). There are however hundreds if not thousands of independent bookshops around the country. We know that many of us use e-readers or order online for the convenance, but, supporting your local or favorite bookshop is helping put money into your local community. Like so many shops and services it is a simple case of use it or loose it.

Book Law Publications
Dapol approached Book Law Publications to allow us to use their logo to represent independent publishers on the grounds that we see them at several shows each year and most of us in the model railway community are likely to have heard of them. The company was established in 1987, they are a family run business dedicated to the traditional values of friendly service. They have a shop in where you can visit to view their publications as well as a wide selection of other titles from other publishers.

Project Update
