N Gauge Gresley BG & Refurb. Buffet EP Update
Exciting news, we have received the first Engineering Prototypes (EP) for the new Gresley BG & Modified Buffet coaches. The design team have reviewed these samples and are on the whole very pleased with them. There are some small adjustments to be made to the BG coach design, these include:
- Fit of roof at ends to be improved
- Tooling for glazing to be polished to improve transparency
- Slight adjustment to tooling to improve fit of handrails on side of coach with ducket
Once the modifications have been made and the design team are happy with the modifications we will move onto producing decorated samples of each of the coaches. We expect to have images of these to share with everybody in about six months’ time

Project Update
The design team have reviewed the samples and have provided the information needed to improve the areas that are in need of improvement. We are waiting for second EP’s and decorated samples.
We strongly recommend anyone that is interested in owning these models and has not yet done so, express their interest in the project. People who have placed and expression of interest will be the first to be sent an invitation to pre-order the models. We plan to only produce minimal surplus stocks.

Exciting Update on the Gresley BG & Refurbished Buffet Project
As illustrated in the image above, we have some thrilling news regarding the Gresley BG and refurbished buffet project. We have reached the milestone necessary to move forward with tooling for both models. With much of the tooling already prepared, we anticipate being able to share images of the EPs with you before the holiday break.
Dapol will provide images of the EPs as soon as they are available.
We encourage you to keep expressing your interest and remember to include your email address. This way, we can send you the necessary link when the pre-order phase begins. Please note that we do not plan to hold a large surplus stock of these coaches, so we will be closely monitoring expressions of interest and pre-order levels to determine our production capacity.

It has been just over three weeks since we launched the N Gauge Gresley Full Brake and Refurbished Buffet project at TINGS 2025 and invited you to express your interest in the various models available. This is our first progress report for those who have shown interest in one or more of the models. We sincerely thank each of you for your valuable feedback. We have an important detail change and an exciting new development to share.
Detail Change
Thanks to feedback from a member of the public, the running number for 2P-011-005 will be revised from E70146E to E70459E. This new running number aligns more accurately with our tooling than the original coach selection.

New Livery Announcement
Due to popular demand, we will now also be offering the refurbished Gresley Buffet in BR Maroon, with two running numbers available E9118E & S9118E. We invite expressions of interest in this new livery, as well as all the previously available options. If you have already expressed interest in the earlier models and would like to secure this additional project, please submit a new expression of interest for this late addition and enter zero for the other models. This will help avoid any duplication of interest for a specific product code..

Project Update
We are getting very close to being able to push the button on this project and get it into the tooling shop.
We sent an e-mail out to the people who have indicated their expression of interest in these models on Friday. Unfortunately some of the people listed in the expressions of interest are not registered with us to receive e-mail marketing, as a mark of respect for their privacy we did not send the mail to these people.
